TIMIRAPUPPHIYA
81. CHRONICLES OF ELDER TIMIRAPUPPHIYA
I went down the stream at the bank of the Candabhāgā river and I saw the recluse sitting, pure and undisturbed.
At that place, after having made my mind pure, at that time I thought thus: " Having passed, this one will help to overcome. Having trained, this person will help train .
Has been free, (this position) will help free. Having been calm, (this position) will help calm. Having been liberated, (this one) will help to be liberated. And having Nirvana, (this one) will help Nirvana ."
Having thought thus for myself, I took the timira flower and sprinkled it on the crown of the great hermit Siddhattha's head.
I put my hands up and circumambulated. After prostrating at the feet of the Guru, I departed in the other direction.
Not long after leaving, (the lion) king of beasts attacked me. While following the mountainside, I fell right there.
(Since) I offered the flower ninety-four kalpas ago, I no longer know suffering; this is the fruit of making offerings to the Buddha.
(Previously) fifty-six kalpas, there were exactly seven persons of great fame as the Wheel-turning Kings who attained the seven kinds of treasures and possessed great power.
Four (wisdom) analysis, eight liberation, and six superior wisdom have been (I) attained; I have been practicing the teachings of the Buddha.
Venerable Venerable Timirapupphiya[25] uttered these verses like that.

82. CHRONICLES OF THE ELDER GATASAÑÑAKA
At the age of seven from the time I was born, I had ordained into the family life. I have bowed down at the feet of the Guru with a pure mind.
I threw the seven naṅgalikī flowers into the air, (mind) towards the Buddha Tissa whose boundless ocean of virtues.
After making offerings to the path that had been crossed by the Blessed One with a joyful mind, then having gained faith, I performed the folding of my hands with my hands.
Since I have done that work ninety-two kalpas ago, I have known no suffering; this is the fruit of making offerings to the Buddha.
Previously, in the eighth life, there were three (with the same name) Aggisikha who were Wheel-turning Kings who achieved the seven kinds of treasures and possessed great power.
Four (wisdom) analysis, eight liberation, and six superior wisdom have been (I) attained; I have been practicing the teachings of the Buddha.
Venerable Venerable Gatasaññaka[26] uttered these verses thus.

83. CHRONICLES OF THE ELDER NIPANNAÑJALIYA
In the jungle I attained supreme compassion. I sat down at the base of the tree, and I was very sick.
Out of compassion, the Master Tissa went to my side. While lying down, I have my hands folded over my head.
With a pure mind, with a joyful mind, I paid homage to the Supremely Enlightened One of all sentient beings, and I passed away there.
(Since) I have bowed down to the Supreme Being ninety-two kalpas ago, I no longer know the realm of suffering; this is the fruit of prostration.
Previously, in the fifth life, there were exactly five (with the same name) Mahāsikha, who were Wheel-turning Kings who achieved the seven kinds of treasures and possessed great power.
Four (wisdom) analysis, eight liberation, and six superior wisdom have been (I) attained; I have been practicing the teachings of the Buddha.
The Venerable thera Nipannañliya uttered these verses thus.

84. CHRONICLES OF ELDER ADHOPUPPHIYA
That bhikkhu named Abhibhū had great spiritual power, had three powers, was the foremost sravaka of (the Blessed One) Sikhī. He went to the Himalayas.
I was also a hermit living in a lovely hermitage in the Himalayas, then I was powerful in immeasurable dharmas (mind) and supernatural powers.
Just like the winged species in the sky, I have settled in the mountain. After taking the adha flower , I went to the mountain.
After taking the seven flowers, I sprinkled them on the top of my head. And when I was seen by the hero, I went east facing.
After returning to the hermitage, I went to the shelter. I took the bag of supplies and went into the hills.
The python with a horrible appearance of terrible power tormented me. I remembered my previous job and died there.
(Since) I offered the flower thirty-one kalpas ago, I no longer know suffering; this is the fruit of the flower offering.
Four (wisdom) analysis, eight liberation, and six superior wisdom have been (I) attained; I have been practicing the teachings of the Buddha.
Venerable Venerable Adhopupphiya[27] spoke these verses like that.

85. CHRONICLES OF THE ELDER RAṂSISAÑÑAKA
Previously, I made a habitation in the mountains of Greece. Wearing a goatskin robe, I live in the hills.
I have seen the Perfectly Enlightened One, whose skin color is bright yellow, like the sun with a hundred rays of light, like the sālā tree in full bloom, entering the forest.
Having made my mind pure in the light of the Great Hermit Vipassī, I folded my hands, squatted, and bowed with my head bowed.
Since I have done that work ninety-one kalpas ago, I have known no suffering; this is the fruit of contemplation on the aura.
Four analytical (wisdom), ―nt― I have practiced the Buddha's teaching.
The Venerable Elder Raṃsisaññaka[28] spoke these verses like that.

86. CHRONICLES OF THE ELDER DUTIYARAṂSISAÑÑAKA
I am the one dressed in the bark of the Himalayas. And after walking on the meditation path I sat down, facing east.
I saw the Venerable Phussa on the mountain, then he was enjoying himself in meditation. I have put my hands together and have made my mind pure in the light.
Since I attained that contemplation ninety-two kalpas ago, I have known no suffering; this is the fruit of contemplation on the aura.
Four analytical (wisdom), ―nt― I have practiced the Buddha's teaching.
The Venerable Raṃsisaññaka spoke these verses thus.

87. CHRONICLES OF THE ELDER PHALADĀYAKA
I am the one wearing the grainy goatskin of the Himalayas. After seeing the noble Conqueror Phussa, having fruit in my hand, I offered fruit.
(Due to) the fact that I have offered fruit with a pure mind, when I was reborn in the realm of existence, a fruit appeared to me.
(Since) I have offered fruit 92 kalpas ago, I no longer know suffering; this is the fruit of the fruit offering.
Four analytical (wisdom), ―nt― I have practiced the Buddha's teaching.
The venerable thera Phaladāyaka uttered these verses thus.

88. CHRONICLES OF ELDER SADDASAÑÑAKA
I live on a carpet of leaves in the Himalayas. When (Buddha) Phussa was talking about the Dharma, I made my mind pure in the sound.
Since I have done that work ninety-two kalpas ago, I have known no suffering; this is the fruit of good karma.
Four (wisdom) analysis, eight liberation, and six superior wisdom have been (I) attained; I have been practicing the teachings of the Buddha.
The Venerable Venerable Saddasaññaka uttered these verses thus.

89. CHRONICLES OF THE ELDER BODHISIÑCAKA
There was a festival at the Great Bodhi tree of the Blessed One Vipassī. While going about my ordination, I approached the festival.
I took the flower water and sprinkled it on the Bodhi tree (saying): “ Having been liberated, You will help us to be liberated. Having reached Nirvana, He will help us to Nirvana .”
(Since) I sprinkled water (flower) at the Bodhi tree ninety-one kalpas ago, I no longer know the state of suffering; this is the fruit of sprinkling water (flowers) at the Bodhi tree.
In the thirty-third lifetime in the present age, there have been eight people rulers of the same name Udakasecana, who are Wheel-turning Kings.
Four (wisdom) analysis, eight liberation, and six superior wisdom have been (I) attained; I have been practicing the teachings of the Buddha.
The Venerable Elder Bodhisiñcaka[29] spoke these verses thus.

90. CHRONICLES OF THE ELDER PADUMAPUPPHIYA
I waded into the water of the lotus pond, and while picking the pink lotuses I saw the Fully Enlightened Phussa with thirty-two good marks.
I took the pink lotus and threw it in the air. After performing the work of faith, I ordained into the family life.
After leaving home, with my body and mind restrained, I gave up my bad behavior in terms of speech and purified my life.
(Since) I have offered the flower ninety-two kalpas ago, I no longer know suffering; this is the fruit of making offerings to the Buddha.
There have been eighteen lords named Padumābhāsa and forty-eight (lords) in eighteen kalpas.
Four (wisdom) analysis, eight liberation, and six superior wisdom have been (I) attained; I have been practicing the teachings of the Buddha.
Venerable Venerable Padumapupphiya[30] uttered these verses like that.
The record of the elder Padumapupphiya is the tenth part.

SUMMARY
The one who has the timira flower , and the one who has the naṅgalī flower , the one who lies down with folded hands, the adha flower , the two who have the contemplation of aura, the one who offers fruit, the one who has the contemplation of sound, and the one who sprinkles water (flower), taste pink lotus; (total) fifty-six verses have been narrated.
