SUVAṆṆABIMBOHANA
271. CHRONICLES OF THE ELDER SUVAṆṆABIMBOHANIYA
Having gained faith, I personally offered a chair. And I offered the pillow to the ultimate goal
(Since) I have offered the pillow ninety-one kalpas ago, I no longer know suffering; this is the treasure of the pillow.
Formerly in the sixty-third life, (I was) the Kingslayer named Asama, the Wheel-turning King, accomplished with the seven kinds of treasures, having great power.
Four analytical (wisdom), ―nt― I have practiced the Buddha's teaching.
Venerable Venerable Suvaṇṇabimbohaniya[66] said these verses like that.

272. CHRONICLES OF THE ELDER TILAMUṬṬHIDĀYAKA
Knowing my intention, the Guru, the great Leader of the world, came by miraculous powers with a body made up of mind.
As He was approaching, I bowed down to the Guru, the Supreme Being. With pure faith, with joy in mind, I offered (one) handful of sesame seeds.
Since I have made almsgiving ninety-one kalpas ago, I have no longer known suffering; this is the fruit of a handful of sesame seeds.
Sixteen kalpas ago, (I was) a kingslayer named Nandiya, a Wheel-turner, accomplished in the seven kinds of treasures, of great power.
Four analytical (wisdom), ―nt― I have practiced the Buddha's teaching.
The Venerable Venerable Tilamuṭṭhidāyaka[67] uttered these verses thus.

273. CHRONICLES OF ELDER CAṄGOṬAKIYA
(Buddha Siddhattha) lived in the mountains near the sea. After going out to receive (His Holiness), I made and offered the box (containing flowers).
After offering the flower-box to the Great Hermit Siddhattha, who had compassion for all sentient beings, I was happy in the heavenly realm for one kalpa.
Since I offered the box ninety-four kalpas ago, I no longer know suffering; this is the treasure of the box.
Four (wisdom) analysis, eight liberation, and six superior wisdom have been (I) attained; I have been practicing the teachings of the Buddha.
The Venerable Elder Caṅgoṭakiya[68] spoke these verses like that.

274. CHRONICLES OF THE ELDER ABBHAÑJANADĀYAKA
Such is the Buddha Koṇḍañña whose mind is as equal as space, whose meditation is unobstructed, whose craving has been abandoned.
The Guru, the Sovereign of men, the one who transcends all delusion, the one whose quest for the good of all the world, I have offered high medicine to Thee.
Since I have offered high medicine countless eons ago, I no longer know the suffering state; this is the fruit of high medicine.
Fifteen kalpas ago, (I was) a kingslayer named Cirappa, a Wheel-turner, accomplished in the seven treasures, of great power.
Four (wisdom) analysis, eight liberation, and six superior wisdom have been (I) attained; I have been practicing the teachings of the Buddha.
The Venerable Abbhañjanadāyaka[69] spoke these verses thus.
The record of the elder Abbhañjanadāyaka is the fourth part.

275. CHRONICLES OF THE ELDER EKAÑJALIYA
I have dedicated the living quarters (solitude) to the great recluse who dwells at the fig tree, where the carpet of leaves has been identified.
After I put my hands together, I spread out a carpet of flowers to (Buddha) Tissa, the Sovereign of mankind, the Protector of the World like that.
(Since) I made the flower carpet ninety-two kalpas ago, I no longer know suffering; this is the treasure of the carpet.
Fourteen kalpas ago, I was the ruler of mankind named Ekañjalika, the mighty Wheel-turning King.
Four analytical (wisdom), ―nt― I have practiced the Buddha's teaching.
The Venerable Ekañjaliya[70] spoke these verses thus.

276. CHRONICLES OF ELDER POTTHADĀYAKA
The offering of the canvas was offered by me to the unsurpassed object worthy of offering, first of all the Guru, the Dharma, and also the Assembly of the Great Hermit.
Since I have done that work ninety-one kalpas ago, I have known no suffering; this is the fruit of the offering of the canvas.
Four analytical (wisdom), ―nt― I have practiced the Buddha's teaching.
Venerable Venerable Potthadāyaka[71] uttered these verses like that.

277. CHRONICLES OF ELDER CITAKAPŪJAKA
I went down the river at the bank of the Candabhāgā river. I have laid at the pyre seven māluva flowers .
(Since) I have made cremation offerings ninety-four kalpas ago, I no longer know suffering; this is the fruit of the offering of the cremation pyre.
Sixty-seven kalpas ago, seven (same) Paṭijagga were the Wheel-turning Kings who accomplished the seven kinds of treasures.
Four analytical (wisdom), ―nt― I have practiced the Buddha's teaching.
The Venerable Elder Citakapūjaka[72] uttered these verses thus.

278. CHRONICLES OF THE ELDER LUVADĀYAKA
In the Himalayas, there is the Mahāsindhu river with a beautiful shape. In that place, I saw (Buddha) Sudassana; He is one whose craving has been abandoned, whose light is radiant.
After seeing the one who was associated with supreme tranquility, having gained faith, I personally offered the roots of the āluva tree to him.
Since I have offered āluva roots 31 kalpas ago, I no longer know suffering; this is the fruit of the root of the āluva tree .
Four analytical (wisdom), ―nt― I have practiced the Buddha's teaching.
The Venerable Elder Āluvadāyaka[73] spoke these verses thus.
The record of the elder Āluvadāyaka is the eighth part.

279. CHRONICLES OF THE ELDER EKAPUṆḌARĪKA
At that time, the Autonomous One named Romasa was one of good practice. With a pure mind, I offered a white lotus (to him).
Ever since I offered the white lotus ninety-four kalpas ago, I no longer know the state of suffering; this is the precious fruit of the white lotus.
Four analytical (wisdom), ―nt― I have practiced the Buddha's teaching.
The Venerable Ekapuṇḍarīka[74] spoke these verses thus.
The record of the elder Ekapuṇḍarīka is the ninth part.

280. CHRONICLES OF ELDER TARAṆĪYA
Having faith, I personally built a bridge on the big bumpy road to help people cross (that part of the road).
(Since) I built the bridge ninety-one lifetimes ago, I no longer know suffering; this is the fruit of the offering of the bridge.
55 kalpas ago, I was the only Samogadha, a Wheel-turner, accomplished in the seven treasures, of great power.
Four (wisdom) analysis, eight liberation, and six superior wisdom have been (I) attained; I have been practicing the teachings of the Buddha.
The Venerable Thera Taraṇīya[75] uttered these verses thus.
The record of the elder Taraṇīya is the tenth part.

SUMMARY
Gold, a handful of sesame seeds, a box, a potion, the clasping of hands, the taste of the canvas, the pyre, the root of the āluva , a white lotus, with the bridge; (total) there are forty-two verses counted by the wise.
The Suvaṇṇabimbohana chapter is the twenty-eighth chapter.
